Labour’s proposal to implement a new “4-point rule” for PIP would strip over 1.1 million disabled people of their vital daily living support. This is a stealth cut disguised as reform — and it’s set to deepen poverty and hardship for the most vulnerable. It’s not just about numbers; this change will affect the lives of hundreds of thousands of disabled people, particularly those with mental health conditions, fluctuating disabilities, and complex needs.

If you’re concerned about the impact of these changes, here’s a template letter you can use to write to your MP and make your voice heard.

Read more about the proposed changes and how you can take action:

US Rep Melanie Stansbury (NM) was denied entry to the Social Security office here in Albuquerque all because of Elon Musk and DOGE cuts. This is NOT Normal! Thank You Melanie!

InstagramRep. Melanie Stansbury on Instagram: "Today, I went to our Social Security Office to conduct Oversight and was denied access to meet with officials. Instead, we were given a generic phone number in another state and denied entry past the waiting room. Here’s what we found out ⬇️ - Staffing is down by over half - Computer systems have been crashing - Call times have more than doubled - It is taking days for members of our communities to reach anyone who can answer questions - People are now being forced to come in person and can’t get appointments for months out to get their issues resolved around the country. These impacts are hurting real people, including our seniors, people living with disabilities and survivors. As the Ranking Member of the DOGE Subcommittee on Oversight, we demand answers and will get to the bottom of this! Hands off our Social Security!"9,355 likes, 814 comments - repstansbury on April 14, 2025: "Today, I went to our Social Security Office to conduct Oversight and was denied access to meet with officials. The push extends across agencies: Last week, the #SSA entered the names & #SocialSecurity numbers of >6,000 mostly Latino immigrants into a database it uses to track dead people, effectively slashing their ability to receive benefits or #work legally in the #UnitedStates. Federal #tax & #immigration enforcement officials recently reached a deal to share confidential tax data for people *suspected* of being in the #US illegally.

Awesome! #Biden will be speaking in #Chicago about the dismantling of #SocialSecurity. It's all hands at battle stations and we could use some Dark Brandon right now. And all the former presidents. They stood together against #Trump in the past and can and should do so now.

It eventually helped lead to the physical removal last week of a top career executive, who had been warned he would be fired if he kept refusing to let #DOGE into #SocialSecurity’s systems.

At the same time, #LelandDudek *mistakenly* let one of the DOGE reps into a #SSA database last week, violating the #CourtOrder…. That error led a federal judge to summon Dudek for a hearing Tues…, but the #Trump admin said in a filing late Monday that he would no longer appear.

For the last couple of months I've breathed a sigh of relief when I checked my bank balance the day SSA is supposed to have deposited my check, and found that the money was there. Elon and his under-aged clown posse haven't yet managed to screw up funds transfer, but I'm sure they're working on it.

People dying SHOULD be enough to get the DOGE boys removed, but sadly we'll have to wait until a massive financial crisis–for those in power–accompany the deaths.
