👀 On our radar: An axed tool for assessing weather risks recreated

💬 “The Guardian is now helping resurrect and display the short-lived tool, which was keenly awaited within Fema as the first free, localized resource showing how much climate change impacts will cost American communities.”

"#AmirMakled thought he was being racially profiled. A Lebanese American who was born and raised in Detroit, the attorney was returning home from a family vacation in the Dominican Republic when he said an immigration official at the Detroit Metro airport asked for a “TTRT” agent after scanning his passport on Sunday. Makled said the expression on the agent’s face changed. He felt something “odd” was happening."

Carole Cadwalladr said 100 Guardian journos were made redundant recently, at the same time as they signed a deal with Open AI. She had some choice things to say about that, along the lines of marrying your abuser. She is warning of the imminent death of information and the techno culture of authoritarian surveillance we now live in. #Education needs to heed her warning but currently are AI data zombies. Her recent TED talk is essential viewing.

It looks like #TheGuardian has reverted this! I now get a slightly different version of the old cookie banner allowing me to reject and manage cookies again.

I had a terse conversation with their customer services by email, and I assume many others have from the backlash to this on social media. It looks like such voices — or the recent Facebook court defeat on the issue — has had an impact.

edit: I'm mistaken; I was on a VPN via the EU where consent-or-pay doesn't fly.

the Guardian's defence and security editor has interviewed the leader of the Azov Regiment, broadly believed to be a neonazi, without warning his readers of the fact. The interview, in which he discredits Ukraine Forces command, reads very different if you're aware of this fact.

I'm not saying there aren't reasons to criticise Ukraine's war strategy, but this guy is hardly and objective observer and it should be stated.

—- 📡 Cobertura de Al Mayadeen Español: Gaza vence al genocidio 🗞 Más noticias | 𝕏 | YouTube | WhatsApp | Instagram | Facebook | Telegram #DiluvioDeAlAqsa #Palestina #FreePalestine #Palestine #PalestinaLibre #Líbano #Siria #Yemen #Gaza #IsraelGenocida #السيد_الأمة
