🌏 Australian wood duck (Chenonetta jubata) ♀

The Australian wood duck, maned duck, or maned goose is a medium-sized duck resembling a small goose. Females have brown heads with distinct white stripes above and below their eyes, and mottled underparts. Males feature a dark brown head with a small mane, a grey body, and a mottled breast. They are widely distributed across mainland Australia, favouring grasslands, woodlands, and shallow wetlands. The white-cheeked pintail, also known as the Bahama pintail or summer duck, is a medium-sized dabbling duck with a long neck and a pointed tail. The Indian spot-billed duck is a large, dabbling duck with a distinctive red spot at the base of its bill.
