Streetartwall. In a Melbourne laneway full of street art, a mural of a funny cartoon emu has been sprayed/painted on a narrow wall. The emu (named Eshay) is depicted up to his shoulders. He has medium length black hair and wears a red baseball cap with a Nike sign (a stylized wave) and sunglasses with yellow lenses. He is unshaven, as he has many individual thin hairs on his chin, a long, narrow nose and a very wide mouth with the corners of his mouth pointing downwards. So, I was bored and figured I'd replace the backlight sheet for an LCD screen in an old 90s sampler. (I'd ordered the replacement in 2023.)

Boy, that was annoying!

I had to completely detach the metal bracket that snuggly presses the LCD screen and 2 zebra strips to the PCB; so I can desolder the old and put the new one in.

With all PCBs bare, I had to turn on the machine, and adjust and move the LCD until the 4 rows of text actually made sense.

Originally green, but now sporting a blue backlight.

The characters are a bit faded though but that part I haven't got a replacement for. Or perhaps I do, but I need to pull the thing apart again, so I'll look at that in another 2 years LOL
