We usually have dozens of green anole #lizards around the house but this year I’m not seeing many at all. Then the other day I saw this big Cuban brown #anole (Anolis sagrei) sitting on the front bushes. According to wiki this is an #invasivespecies that “is capable of expanding its range very quickly, and both outcompetes and consumes many species of native lizards, like the green anole.” So this may be why so few green anoles around this year.

Another shot of my hibernating Carolina anole. When she first came inside, she stayed brown but more recently she's decided to go with green.

She came in before the hard freeze so she's been snoozing on this plant for weeks but I've noticed her blinking and moving around a bit more, so figure she'll be leaving soon.

I think she thinks she has gone completely unnoticed!
