This fellow had a very specific agenda, displaying on one branch, then repositioning, then displaying, then moving, then he ran over to a different bush and displayed on that one. His lands are vast and prosperous!
Today's distinguished anole is an adult crested who lives in a poinciana tree. Master of graceful leaps and awkward landings.
More anoles, this time all from our temporary backyard on a mountainside outside Utuado. These guys are all over the place; every step I take has little rustling echos as the lizards scatter.

We usually have dozens of green anole #lizards around the house but this year I’m not seeing many at all. Then the other day I saw this big Cuban brown #anole (Anolis sagrei) sitting on the front bushes. According to wiki this is an #invasivespecies that “is capable of expanding its range very quickly, and both outcompetes and consumes many species of native lizards, like the green anole.” So this may be why so few green anoles around this year.

Anoles are super cool.
Green #Anole. This is a common species in my area, but I don't see them very often because they're such good hiders.
@lacochran If you like birds, this #nature video has a fair amount of #birds.

Another shot of my hibernating Carolina anole. When she first came inside, she stayed brown but more recently she's decided to go with green.
She came in before the hard freeze so she's been snoozing on this plant for weeks but I've noticed her blinking and moving around a bit more, so figure she'll be leaving soon.
I think she thinks she has gone completely unnoticed!
This sweet hibernating lizard has turned out to be a very restful & inspirational snoozing guest... if only all house guests were so trouble-free
She's starting to wake up tho... guess she'll be leaving for the great outdoors soon...
