Today I met a woman who was wandering around the local botanical gardens staging pictures with figurines and small plushies. This is a carrot baiting gnome she staged in the kaleidoscope planter to show me the cool patterns it made when one looks at it through the kaleidoscope viewers. Kids would have really enjoyed it maybe even more than us older women.

The trees in the circular raised bed at the entry to the great lawn at the local botanical gardens will need to be moved soon to prepare for the new bed decor. It amazes me that they use such large trees in these beds.

Three large evergreen trees planted in a central circular raised bed of blocks and cement on a circular paver patio lined with short stone brick walls topped with cement that can serve as low seating. There are wooden beams supporting a narrow overhead semi-circular decorative overhang. Beyond is a semi-circular walkway with an overhead arbor supported by stone pillars surrounding a large lawn with still golden dormant grass. The deciduous trees in the distance are leafless.

J’ai beaucoup de plaisir à lire ces romans de Ito Ogawa. C’est doux , pudique, sans prétention. Il ne se passe pas grand chose et pourtant on a vraiment envie de lire la suite . C’est comme une parenthèse, un nuage .

I have constantly been awed by #Yemen’s #architecture. So I couldn’t avoid immortalising this moment of #Yemenite #craftsmanship for #house #decoration in #Sanaa when I was allowed to. If the artist is shaped by working on his own task as if he was part of it, the creator is part of the design.

Shot of winter decoration in planter in local botanical gardens taken when temps were in the 60's a few days ago. Tomorrow's forecast high is 39 with light snow tonight. It may be a while yet before they change the planters over to spring decor.

Repurposed evergreen branches and dried decorative grasses artistically arranged in a cement planter at the corner of a sunken reflection pool that is mostly drained in a garden during the dormant season. There is a dried golden brown lawn beyond the pool with other golden brown remnants of last year's greenery with a variety of trees in the distance under a blue sky.

About 40% of the frame is filled by an electric box with a pale orange sun and sinuous cloud shapes as welkl as a brown perly animal in two tones with a trailing tail and one foot raised up, rendered in two tones on its body and surrounded by a white outline over a grey background. Three yellow bars say in black lettering "406-SW1", "A-C-B", and "F1SHER-C4T"; the box is attached to a wooden pole and in the background is a snowy scene including a road with tracks worn in the snow, a green house and an evergreen tree.
