@c_reider This film is my impulse answer to the question "what's your favorite movie" even though I have others and "it depends". Brazil tops them all for me.

I have that full criterion collection with the uncut version (and I couldn't say offhand what is different, haven't watched in years).

But yeah he's an ass. Still kicking, too.

Terry Gilliam – „Brazil“ (1985)

(ZDF)

Monty Python: 50 Years in America 👈

Did you know North Texas was the first region in American to broadcast Monty Python on television? That's thanks to KERA - the area's PBS station! Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam recall fond memories of their first introduction to Texas and the legacy that the station helped them build across the pond.

@hollywoodreporter I would have loved to be sitting at a nearby table while Sam Mendes and Armando Iannucci were sharing ideas.

I once sat in a restaurant across from Terry Gilliam talking to some film people and once he left everyone else in the restaurant broke their cool and said "Omg, did you see? That was Terry Gilliam!!"

He was on form as well, many film making anecdotes. It's a wonder any film is made at all!

Tonight’s 4K Ultra HD film is “The Fisher King” (1991), starring Jeff Bridges & Robin Williams. Directed by Terry Gilliam.

Released by The Criterion Collection.

A former radio DJ, suicidally despondent because of a terrible mistake he made, finds redemption in helping a deranged homeless man who was an unwitting victim of that mistake.
