Just saw an excellent convo about affirmations for #masculine people. I got happy. Then I got sad when I remembered what's happening in the USA. We're being dragged backward at an alarming rate. We're back to struggling merely to affirm that #women, #LGBTQIA+ people, ethnic/racial #minorities, people with #disabilities, etc. deserve the same rights as everyone else, and to be free from harassment and violence. "Advanced" things like how stereotypes about #men (and similar topics) support and entrench #patriarchy seem like almost luxuries at this point. I feel like I'm going to spend all my day-to-day social justice time explaining to people that trans and queer and #Black and #Native and #Hispanic and #autistic and female people are human for the next few years. Ugh.

Apparently anything even tangentially related to the health and history of women and religious, ethnic or sexual minorities is "DEI" now. Including Holocaust Remembrance. It almost seems as if the current leadership of the Pentagon regrets the role the U.S. armed forces played in the victory over Nazi Germany.

From the article: "Essentially, all employees and job seekers, a total of approximately 153 million Americans, benefit from the protections the EEOC provides. The Equal Pay Act—a law requiring equal pay for equal work that the EEOC enforces—covers virtually all employers, while other laws enforced by the EEOC apply to all but the smallest employers. Whether they work in the private sector or for the government, practically all employees and those applying for jobs are protected by the EEOC against illegal employer actions" (Annotations removed for clarity)

I hope this writer is correct but I don't have a lot of confidence in the #American electorate right now. How can anyone explain #fundie_vangie adoration that elevates this moron to "dog" status. What explains children of WWII GIs who fought #nazis now actively supporting said nazis? Why do poverty stricken #minorities believe a rich, fat, old white guy cares for them? In my studies of human behavior, I could have never imagined this level of stupidity among Americans.
